Chocolate Cookie

       Chocolate Cookie is great for snack time. It is a simple and easy recipe. They are delicious, rich and buttery tasting chocolate cookies. This is a perfect cookie for chocolate lovers.




Prep time: 15 mins     Cook time: 15 mins      Cooling time: 45 mins      Yields: 18

Ingredients
  • 2/3 cup All purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup Unsweetened Cocoa powder (I used Hershey's)
  • 1/8 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/4 cup Butter (Softened at room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 Egg (At room temperature)
  • 2 tbsp Powdered Sugar
Procedure

1. Preheat oven at 350 F (175 C). On the baking tray, lay parchment paper.

2. Mix flour, cocoa, salt and baking powder nicely.


3. Whip butter and brown sugar together.


4. Add egg and mix nicely.


5. Add half of the flour mixture and mix well.


6. Add the remaining flour, mix and form a dough.


7. Form 1 inch ball out of the dough and roll it in powder sugar. Your hands may get messy. Rolling in powder sugar will give a snowy effect to the cookies. Place the rolled dough in parchment paper. 

8. Repeat the above step with the remaining dough. Leave 2 inch space between each balls in the parchment paper.


9. Bake it for 13-15 minutes. Rotate the baking tray in-between. Cookies will get crackle effect in the top.

10. Let it cool for 10 minutes. Then place the cookies in wire rack and let it cool down.


11. When cookies are completely cool, you can serve them or store in air tight container at room temperature for 5 days.


      To increase the chocolate flavor, make all-purpose flour and cocoa powder both as 1/2 cup in above recipe. Try out the variations and share me your experience.. !!
