Potato Fry

    Hello everyone... Here I am with a  yummy and easy recipe... Its Potato Fry... Who doesn't like it ?? This simple Potato fry makes your meal complete.

Potato Fry !!!

Prep time: 10 mins    Cook time: 15 mins    Serves: 2

Ingredients
  • 2 Medium Size Potato
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Split Urad dal
  • 1 Clove Garlic
  • 3/4 tsp Red Chili powder
  • Few Curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • A pinch of Asafoetida
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2-3 tbsp Oil
Procedure

1. Peel the potato and cut them in equal size. Larger the size, it takes more time to cook and smaller the size, it takes less time to cook. I used Vegetable chopper, so that i can get equal size and it saves time.


2. Chop the garlic as the same size as potatoes.

3. Heat a kadai or pan with oil. Add mustard seeds. When mustard seeds crackle, add urad dal, curry leaves, garlic and potato.


4. SautĂ© it for 2 minutes in medium flame, you will get nice aroma of garlic.

5. Add turmeric and asafoetida to the potato and mix well.


6. When potatoes are half cooked add red chili powder and salt. Mix it well.


7. SautĂ© for 3-4 minutes. Potato will be cooked. If you want potatoes to be more roasted, SautĂ© for 3 more minutes.

8. Serve Potato Fry with your meal.


After cutting the potatoes, wash them nicely and drain it before adding to the pan. If you wash the potato, extra starch is washed off and they don't stick to the pan while sautĂ©ing.
